Inaugurated yesterday, on 29 April 2023, after a total of four years of construction, the latest extension of Line A of Bordeaux’s tramway now provides a long-awaited direct rail link between Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport and the city centre.

The approximately 5-kilometre line branches off the existing Line A route at Quatre-Chemins stop and reaches Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport via four intermediate stations called Mérignac Soleil, Chemin long, Cadéra Issartier and Caroline Aigle. The new section is single-track with passing loops. Total investment cost is 95 million euros.
