In its 80th anniversary year, the HÜBNER Group will be presenting products and solutions for efficient, safe, comfortable and reliable public transport at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin. The world market leader for gangway systems will be showing in Hall 1.2, Stand 120, from 22 to 25 September how especially distinguished products can enhance the travel experience for passengers.
HOLO IQ-Next-generation passenger information and safety
Together with ZEISS Microoptics, HÜBNER will be presenting its enhanced transparent holographic displays for window systems in rail vehicles and buses. “With ‘HOLO IQ’, we are able to bring information such as arrival times, route updates, and safety information directly into passengers’ field of vision – without obstructing their view through the window. The technology is space-saving, energy-efficient and can be retrofitted,” explains Konrad Brimo, Vice President Global Sales Material Solutions at the HÜBNER Group. Pilot applications under real operating conditions are currently running with leading transport operators in various European countries. HÜBNER and ZEISS Microoptics recently received a “special distinction” for the holographic display technology at the CNA Innovation Awards 2026.
Effective anti-trap protection with SensIQ product solutions
With its SensIQ product family, HÜBNER is setting benchmarks for door safety systems. They protect passengers from getting trapped in closing vehicle doors. SensIQ contact uses an intelligent anti-trap protection system with system monitoring to protect passengers during boarding and exiting, while SensIQ signal enhances the solution with a light-based guidance system, providing passengers with clear and effective information on when doors are opening and closing.
Articulation and Bogie systems for the entire lifecycle
HÜBNER’s FXpro lower articulation systems stand for long service life, low lifecycle costs and improved resource efficiency. Their eco-design allows the reuse of up to 98 percent of all metal parts installed. The upper joint systems are also developed and manufactured by HEMSCHEIDT Rail, part of the HÜBNER Group. Yaw, pitch, yaw-roll and yaw-roll-pitch joints connect vehicle segments safely and flexibly – even on tight curves, with frequent acceleration and changing loads.
HEMSCHEIDT Rail complements the portfolio with hydraulic systems for running gear dynamics and maintenance: stabilizers, special dampers and anti-roll bars ensure noticeably greater ride comfort and a stable, smooth vehicle performance. The HEAS Auto Shimming System optimises wheel-load distribution, enables semi-automatic adjustment of spring shims and can therefore reduce maintenance effort and downtimes. “The control arms guide the wheelsets and transmit forces in the running gear, while anti-roll bars stabilize the car body in curves and reduce the vehicle’s roll,” explains Christopher Sames, Managing Director of HEMSCHEIDT Rail. “The result is significantly greater comfort for staff and passengers and a stable, quiet running performance.”
State-of-the-art GRP manufacturing technologies
In the ready-to-install HEFES module, HEMSCHEIDT Rail, brings together protection and design requirements in a fully integrated front-end system for trams, street cars and light rail vehicles. Manufactured from glass-fibre-reinforced plastic (GRP) or polyurethane, HEFES front-end modules meet the highest safety requirements and can be integrated into new vehicles or be used to modernize existing fleets.

HÜBNER is also offering special gear for its original: the gangway systems, which connect train cars worldwide. The patented HÜBNER Fairing with a rectangular bellows configuration optimizes aerodynamics between carriages – especially at high speeds. At the same time, the Fairing reliably protects components located between the carriages – such as cables, lines and end walls – from external influences, thus increasing vehicle availability.
The company’s high sustainability standards are also evident in the materials used: the EcoTex bellows fabric is made entirely from recycled nylon sourced from fishing nets, combined with sustainable raw materials based on cellulose and viscose. Production reduces CO2 emissions by up to 45 percent –completely solvent-free.
HÜBNER AutoCouple System as a pilot project
Another highlight is the HÜBNER AutoCouple System – a product solution for the fully automated coupling of gangway systems in passenger trains. This enables operators to adjust train capacities more quickly and flexibly to fluctuations in demand, reducing downtimes and lowering staffing costs. HÜBNER will be giving operators and manufacturers the opportunity to break new ground by implementing the AutoCouple system for the first time as part of a pilot project.
