INTERALPIN took place for the 25th time in Innsbruck from 6 to 9 May 2025, becoming the international meeting place for ropeway and alpine technology for all major key players, decision-makers from all continents and high-ranking international business delegations. The trade fair stands for a unique overview of the industry and the presentation of technological world firsts and innovations as well as forward-looking concepts. The 25th edition of INTERALPIN, the world’s leading trade fair for the industry in its 50th anniversary year, was characterised by positive momentum and investment interest.

650 exhibitors from around 50 nations and around 36,800 trade visitors from all parts of the world – thus underpinning its leading role as the world’s leading trade fair for ropeway and alpine technology. Technological innovations and pioneering solutions from all relevant areas of the industry were presented: ropeway technology and lifts, urban mobility concepts, alpine planning and architecture, piste services and snowmaking, access and ticketing systems, safety solutions and facilities for leisure and sport. Christian Mayerhofer, Managing Director of Congress Messe Innsbruck (CMI) summarises: “With its 25th edition and 50th anniversary, INTERALPIN has clearly confirmed its leading position as the leading global trade fair for alpine technologies. The enormous international participation, the high quality of the exhibitors and trade visitors, the innovation density and the great business interest show how strongly the trade fair is anchored as a platform in the industry. My sincere thanks go to all exhibitors, partners and trade visitors.”

International decision-makers, high willingness to invest

The international appeal of INTERALPIN 2025 was reflected in the number of visitors and the composition of the trade audience: over 60 per cent of registered visitors travelled from abroad, and Messe Innsbruck’s access control system recorded registrations from around 130 nations – including representatives from established markets such as the USA, France, Italy, Japan and Canada as well as from emerging and new regions such as South Korea, Kazakhstan, Romania, Argentina, Uzbekistan and Chile. The main reasons cited by the high-calibre trade visitors for visiting the trade fair were the complete overview of all market-leading suppliers, access to technological world firsts and innovations and the opportunity to make international business contacts and initiate investment projects.

New: City Cable Car Solutions

For the first time, INTERALPIN presented ‘City Cable Car Solutions’ (3CS), urban mobility solutions with cable car-related technology, both in practical terms and in terms of knowledge transfer. The increasing importance of sustainable transport models in urban areas was impressively illustrated with best practices, practical application examples and technical concepts. As many as 10 per cent of trade visitors showed an interest in this key topic. Exhibitors also responded positively, describing cable car-related urban solutions as highly relevant and future-orientated.

The European Inter-Alpine Natural Hazards Conference (INAC), which focussed on current and future challenges relating to natural hazards in the Alpine region, was held for the first time.

In addition to the extensive exhibition, INTERALPIN 2025 once again offered a strong content platform for knowledge transfer, networking and strategic dialogue. The INTERALPIN INSPIRATION DAYS impressed with a top-class programme on key future topics for the industry – from sustainable Alpine tourism, urban ropeway solutions and natural hazard management to the potential of artificial intelligence.

The 26th INTERALPIN will take place from 20 to 23 April 2027 at Messe Innsbruck.
