IVU supports open interfaces in public transport

By joining the working group ‘Manufacturer-independent standard interface for public transport’ (HUSST), IVU Traffic Technologies AG supports the development of uniform industry standards. The goal is to significantly facilitate the digitalisation of transport companies through open interfaces.

Industry-wide standards are the foundation for successful digitalisation in public transport. In recent years, HUSST has established standards for fare and results data – and now offers reliable and efficient integration of distribution systems from different manufacturers. HUSST is classified as a working group of ITS Germany – the German Association of Transport Technologies and Intelligent Mobility. As a long-standing provider of integrated ticketing solutions, IVU is now contributing its extensive practical experience to the interoperability of IT systems. Together with other technology partners, the Berlin-based software company is working to develop viable standards for the entire industry.

“There is still an unmanageable variety of data formats for public transport distribution systems in Germany,” explains Olaf Clausen, managing partner of AMCON and active member of HUSST. “With the development of manufacturer-independent standard interfaces, these problems are a thing of the past. We are therefore pleased to have IVU as an important partner at our side.”

Dr Falko Hagebölling, Head of Development Operations at IVU Traffic Technologies AG, adds: “Industry standards are the key to efficient digitalisation of transport companies. HUSST has achieved a great deal in recent years. As a new member, we want to create standardised interfaces for fare data and distribution channels for our customers, as well as actively help shape standards for current developments such as account-based ticketing.”
