KVG Kiel is expanding its vehicle fleet with two new electric minibuses, taking another important step towards sustainable mobility. The two vehicles of the Wisdom Motor Sigma 7 type were delivered in December 2025 and have been in regular service since early January 2026.
The procurement was carried out as part of a Europe-wide tender using a negotiated procedure with a preceding participation competition. The contract was awarded at the beginning of April 2025 to the cooperation partner Jebsen & Jessen e-Mobility, through whom the first three vehicles of the very similar Mellor Sigma 7 model had already been purchased. The newly delivered units feature an updated design with a modernised front section as well as minor technical and functional adjustments. As a result, the vehicles integrate seamlessly into the existing fleet while also representing a visual and technical development.

Operation on local bus routes
With the introduction of these two new vehicles, KVG’s minibus fleet is complete for the time being. The electric minibuses have gradually replaced the diesel Sprinter vehicles previously in use.
They will primarily operate on local bus routes where the route layout—such as narrow streets or limited turning space—does not allow the use of larger standard buses. Thanks to their compact dimensions and locally emission-free drive system, the vehicles are particularly well suited for use in residential areas and historic town centres.
