On 23 April 2020, the first of the eight new trolleybuses of Škoda Electric’s 30Tr model began regular services in the Czech spa town of Mariánské Lázně.
The trolleybuses have been built by Škoda Electric in Plzen, subsupplier of the chassis and bodywork is the Czech manufacturer SOR Libchava. The purchase price for all eight vehicles totals CZK 100.64 million (approx. EUR 3.9 million). The trolleybuses have a traction battery for off-wire operation of up to 14 km. The older Škoda 24 trolleybuses will be replaced and probably sold on to Eastern European operator, however, no. 51 (prototype of the 24Tr model) might be preserved as a historical trolleybus by the operator.
