Zagreb Tramway – Straßenbahn Zagreb

The tramway in the Croatian capital of Zagreb was built in the days of the former Austrian Austro-Hungarian Empire. It still forms the backbone of local public transport today. The fleet of vehicles has been colourful and varied over the years, and the variety of types is still quite large today.

The book written and composed by authors Dražen Bijelić, Željko Halambek and Filip Sirovica presents the various generations of vehicles in mostly full-page photos from different eras. The quality of the photos and the print quality of the book are impressive. Overview tables of all the vehicles used can be found at the back of the book, which help to categorise the locomotive and trailer series. The book was published a few years ago, but is still up to date and well worth reading.

All the photo descriptions have also been translated into English and Croatian, making the book, which is designed as an illustrated book, particularly interesting for non-German speakers, too.

Overall verdict: Highly recommended!
