On 24 July 2020, the president’s office of the German Railway Industry Association (VDB) elected Andre Rodenbeck, CEO Rail Infrastructure at Siemens Mobility GmbH, to succeed Michael Fohrer as VDB President with immediate effect. The new VDB Vice President for Vehicles is Jure Mikolčić, CEO of Stadler Pankow GmbH and a member of the Stadler Rail AG management team.
On the occasion of a president’s office meeting on 24 July 2020, the VDB elected Andre Rodenbeck, the previous VDB Vice President Vehicles and Digitization, as the new VDB President. At Siemens Mobility he is CEO of the Rail Infrastructure division.
Andre Rodenbeck has been with Siemens since 2003 and was appointed CEO Rail Infrastructure in April 2019. As General Manager Mass Transit, Head of Sales for Mainline Signalling, Director Sales and Projects, Business Development and Project Manager, the graduate industrial engineer worked for Siemens Mobility in Spain, Thailand and Germany.
He succeeds Michael Fohrer, who informed the Executive Committee on 15 July 2020 of his resignation from Bombardier Transportation and the office of VDB President. The VDB Presidium and the VDB Management thanked Fohrer for his outstandingly successful commitment to the rail industry and climate protection, especially during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Presidium has named Jure Mikolčić as the new VDB Vice President Vehicles. Mikolčić has been CEO of Stadler Pankow GmbH and a member of the Group Management of Stadler Rail AG since 2019. The graduate economist has worked in the rail industry for many years, including as former managing director of Knorr-Bremse Powertech and former President Commuter and Regional Trains at Siemens.
The Presidium has also decided to provide for a new responsibility for the mega-topic of digitization in the VDB Presidium this year.07.08.2020
