Eva Kreienkamp appointed as new CEO of BVG Berlin

Eva Kreienkamp becomes the new CEO of Berlin’s transport operator. Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe AöR (BVG). This was decided by the BVG supervisory board in its meeting on April 30th. Kreienkamp has many years of management experience in the transport industry and will take up her new post at BVG on October 1st 2020. BVG supervisory board chairwoman Senator Ramona Pop commented: “With Eva Kreienkamp we were able to get a proven specialist for the chairmanship of the BVG board. I am convinced that together with Rolf Erfurt and Dirk Schulte and the employees, she will continue the success story of the BVG. The major challenges facing the BVG, such as the effects of the pandemic, but also the further expansion of local transport, the electrification of the bus fleet and the digitization of mobility offers require competence, determination and commitment – Eva Kreienkamp brings all of this.”

Eva Kreienkamp: “I thank you for the trust you have placed in me and I am looking forward to returning to Berlin. To lead the BVG into the next decade as CEO is both an honor and a challenge for me. I would be happy to accept them together with the BVG employees and my board colleagues.” The graduate mathematician is currently the managing director of the Mainzer Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG) mbH. During this time she has essentially digitized municipal transport in Mainz as well as advanced major infrastructure projects. In addition, she combined the outsourced driver company with the MVG under a collective agreement in trusting cooperation with the employee representatives. As Managing Director of RDC Deutschland GmbH and CEO of Hamburg-Köln-Express GmbH, she built up the private competitor of Deutsche Bahn in long-distance rail passenger transport for the Railroad Development Corporation from Pittsburgh. Before that, she took on international management tasks in finance, business administration and sales at Berlinwasser Holding AG and Allianz SE. In addition, Eva Kreienkamp is involved in the relevant mobility associations, the German Transport Forum (DVF) and the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) on educational and digitization topics.
