A very special service during the Christmas season is offering Munich’s public transport operator MVG Münchner Verkehrs-Gesellschaft. The „ChristkindlTram“ makes a 30 minutes roundtrip starting at Sendlinger Tor via Isator – Maxmonument – Nationaltheater – Theatinerstrasse – Lenbachplatz – Karlsplatz/Stachus back to Sendlinger Tor. Every 45 minutes the three-axle, 62-year old tramway 2412 coupled with trailer 3407 starts the little journey through the heart of Munich. Sweets and drinks are offered, and as prices are moderate, it’s not very surprising that the demand is high and queing is the order of the day.
The ChristkindTram operated between 30 November and 23 December Monday-Friday from 15.00 h to 19.30 h, on the weekends from 11.15 h to 19.30 h.
