A very good overview of Berlin’s rail-based public transport scenery – this sums up in a few words what this handy book stands for. Metro, S-Bahn and the tram are described here, each with a historical review including some photos, a brief description of the current situation and the fleet roster of each system. The neighbouring operators in Potsdam, Schöneiche, Wolterdorf and Strausberg are included in the descirptions, too.
Well suited for those who want to get to know and explore Berlin’s public transport network, but also for those who are already more familiar with the subject, the book with its many beautiful colour photos offers a good summary of the topic. And the quality of the maps from Schwandl hardly needs to be explicitly mentioned here – they are once again convincing!
