At the Škoda Group’s production site in Pilsen, the first Škoda ForCity Plus FCB trams are nearing completion. We take a look into the production progress and the details of the vehicles.

The vehicles are tailor-made for three German cities with different needs and environments – Frankfurt (Oder), Brandenburg an der Havel and Cottbus. The first tram will be heading to Frankfurt (Oder) in April, while a month later, the citizens of Cottbus can look forward to receive their tramcar. Last week, representatives of transport companies from Brandenburg federal state region came to Pilsen to see the production process of their trams. They had a unique opportunity to see the result of precise work, which will soon be on German tramway systems. Brandenburg’s public transport operators currently have a total of 39 vehicles on order, with a further 8 available for option. 13 of the 39 vehicles will go to Stadtverkehrsgesellschaft mbH Frankfurt (Oder), 4 plus 8 optional vehicles will go to Verkehrsbetrieb Brandenburg an der Havel GmbH and the remaining 22 to Cottbusverkehr GmbH.

These are modern unidirectional, three-section, 70% low-floor vehicles with two radial and one non-radial bogie. Passengers can look forward to comfortable, air-conditioned, spacious and barrier-free vehicles, in the interior of which there are multifunctional spaces for wheelchairs, prams or bicycles. The new trams will have an easy-to-understand information system with several screens and panels. The tram will also be equipped with a camera system for a better overview of the driver and increased traffic safety. The transport company will appreciate the low operating costs of the product from the Škoda ForCity Plus platform.
