On 4 February 2021, RVK Regionalverkehr Köln has started revenue service of its first Solaris’ hydrogen bus into service. RVK’s Wermelskirchen depot (Bergisch Gladbach district) operates the new Solaris “Urbino 12 hydrogen”. For refueling a hydrogen filling station supplied by Linde is located at the depot area. > The RVK has ordered 15 such hydrogen electric buses from Solaris for delivery this year, another 10 will go to Wuppertal.
Already last year, RVK and Stadtwerke Wuppertal had agreed to a joint order for hydrogen buses. These vehicles were supplied by a Belgian manufacturer. This time Solaris was the winner of the tender process and was awarded the contract.
