After almost 30 years and around 1,000,000 kilometres travelled, the eleven GT6 trams operated by Stadtwerke Augsburg will be taken out of service and gradually replaced by the new, seven-car, 42-metre-long Stadler Tramlink trams over the coming months. On Thursday night (30 November 2023), the first of the eleven left for Zagreb to be used on the network in the Croatian capital for a few more years. It is Augsburg’s tram no. 607 which is already painted in the blue colours of its new home.
